This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Time and Resilience (STAR) Worker to join the SET CAMHS Crisis service to work with an exciting new development of supporting young people who have a brief admission to an inpatient unit to assess their mental health needs. This role is within the crisis service and will involve support calls, home/community/Tier 4 visits, and brief pieces of therapeutic work. There is an expectation to support the wider crisis team in supporting the needs of young people in situations of mental health crisis.
The post holder will support the clinical work of 7 local CAMHS teams by assisting in screening, conducting assessments, and enabling young people and families to use strategies to support their care plan in their community, including liaising with referrers, families, and other agencies, as well as through outcomes collection and data management.
The post holder will work in close partnership with schools, CAMHS Ambassadors, A&Es, social care, and with our partner agencies to provide the best support to young people.
The post holder will work within SET CAMHS Crisis service as a part of the multidisciplinary team. They will be responsible for delivering assessments and evidence-based brief interventions (e.g. psychoeducation, therapy groups, workshops, or guided self-help) for clients experiencing moderate mental health difficulties under clinical supervision within the Crisis team. The post will support the therapeutic home treatment aspect of the crisis team.
The post holder will assist various pathways with administrative tasks, audit, evaluation, data collection/analysis, and produce performance reports related to specialist treatment pathways.
The post holder will work with young people and families from different cultural backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities. The post holders will also work closely with colleagues and partners in the inpatient unit, Local Authority, education settings, and other partner agencies.
The post holder will have regular supervision from a senior clinician including 1:1 or group supervision and have ample CPD opportunities in the team such as weekly Multi-Disciplinary discussions.
Starting with NELFT:
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
