About the Role The role of a Removals Officers is varied and no 2 days will be the same, you will be working in line with current legislation in facilitating the removal or immobilisation of vehicles deemed to be illegally parked, abandoned, or untaxed in line with DVLA and current government guidance. To do this you will work in conjunction with other local authorities such as police and be the first point of contact, to support with environmental issues e.g. abandoned cars, caravans etc. The role is part office-based and part mobile travelling around Nottingham inspecting possible abandoned vehicles or enforcing vehicles that are untaxed or parked in contravention, you will be required to provide cover for the Hi-ab Removal Drivers when necessary so you will be fully trained to operate to lift vehicles off the highway. A Class 1 LGV Licence is preferred but we will accept a Class 2 LGV Licence. You will be required to work 37 hours per week, our shift patterns are as follows - Two weeks 08:00 to 16:00 - One week 10:30 to 18:30, you will also work one Saturday in every three 08:00 to 16:00. When you work a Saturday you will get the following Monday off as a rest day. This is included in your 37 hours. There is currently one position available. About You The ideal candidate will have: The ideal candidate will have: · Class 1 LGV Driving licence is preferred but Class 2 LGV Driving Licence is essential · Enforcement experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided · Knowledge of parking, abandoned and untaxed vehicle legislation is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided - A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
