Purpose of the Role
We currently have an opportunity within our accounts department in Grantham for an experienced Finance Assistant. As Finance Assistant, you will carry out general, cost, or sub-ledger accounting activities for a defined scope. This role will report into the Management Accountant and you will be working within the management accounting function.
Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the completion of cost and values for each contract on a weekly basis and producing weekly/monthly volume reports for the Business Unit Managers. As Finance Assistant, you will use Excel and accounting systems to process sales invoices and to produce monthly management accounts.
As Finance Assistant you will also consolidate and analyse results and carry out sub-ledger accounting; accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset accounting, cash flow entry, etc and manage inventory postings. You will provide assistance in the management of contract and customer files, monitoring and controlling invoicing and at-risk customers, etc
The Ideal Candidate
You will need to be a flexible, enthusiastic team player with excellent communications skills, and an eye for detail that allows for you to see how to improve processes and make the department run more smoothly.
You should be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and be familiar with any accountancy systems.
