About the role
House Services employs over 400 colleagues, with the aim of providing the highest standards in cleaning, portering and associated services, across the University Academic, Teaching and Learning Estate. This role is 35 hours a week, 06:45-14:45, Monday- Friday. There will also be the occasional requirement to work a weekend to cover out-of-hours events.
About you:
In order to assist the House Services Cluster Manager with the daily operational management of the House Services team, we are looking to hire a motivated and appropriately skilled professional. The applicants are required to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to lead, plan, guide, support and oversee the delivery of workplace cleaning, portering and associated services. The applicants will be in charge of organising the delivery of first-rate facilities management and customer service.
In order to inspire and assist others in consistently meeting the necessary standards, applicants must also be able to demonstrate their understanding of how to lead by example. They must also make sure that all supervisory guidance is supported by empathy, understanding, and encouragement for both their team and each individual member.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate their suitability through an understanding of the role requirements, preferably gained through relevant experience. They should also be confident using IT software for administration, day-to-day planning, and reporting purposes.
Along with having strong written and verbal communication skills that meet the requirements of the position, applicants should also be able to prioritise and manage their own workload. Applicants will have a facilities management professional qualification and/or a track record of proven professional abilities and knowledge from prior relevant industrial experience.
