An excellent opportunity is available for a motivated, organised graduate ecologist within a supportive, forward-thinking ecological consultancy. The role will be a mix of fieldwork and desk-based responsibilities and will provide excellent experience in key areas of ecological consultancy. Work will include bat surveys, data analysis, mapping, drafting reports, and general organisation/administration duties. Depending on skills and progression, there may also be opportunities to assist with or survey and reporting work, such as ecological appraisals and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
Location: North-east England - combination of remote working, field surveys and meeting up as a team regularly in a central location.
Applicants will ideally have:
1. A good degree (and strong A’s or equivalent) in a relevant subject
2. Experience with GIS
3. Good verbal and written communication skills, with a good eye for detail and highly organised
4. An understanding of an ecological consultant's role
5. Ability to work under pressure during the busy survey season
6. Driving licence and own car essential
7. Some bat survey experience an advantage but not essential
Package includes: £25k p.a., paid overtime and/or TOIL, pension, structured career progression and 23 days holidays.
