An exciting Bar/ Venue Manager job opportunity in Whitstable
The newly renovated South Quay Shed is home to a range of quality food and retail outlets offering a variety of products for visitors to enjoy. Nestled in the heart of the shed is the Unit 6 Bar, where visitors can stop for a drink while they look out across the impressive Whitstable Harbour landscape.
If successful, you will be responsible for the operational management of the Unit 6 Bar and the bar within Kings Hall Music Venue, as well as working with the Harbour team on the overall management of the entire South Quay Shed complex.

About this Bar Manager/ Venue Manager job opportunity:
* You will take on the operational management of the Unit 6 Bar, the South Quay Shed complex in Whitstable, as well as the bar within Kings Hall in Herne Bay.
* As our Venue Manager, you will passionately explore all of the new opportunities that working with the team, and the other tenants can bring to make the South Quay Shed a top destination in Kent.
* You’ll deliver a professional service delivery by managing staff, budgets and legislative requirements to provide excellent customer service and achieve the council’s commercial ambitions.
* You will recommend and implement commercially responsive service improvements by monitoring external competition and seeking the best value from suppliers in order to deliver agreed income targets for all venues.
Working pattern:
* Full-time, 37 hours per week across 5 days
* The venues will operate over 7 days a week, and therefore, evening and weekend work will be expected.
About you, the successful Bar / Venue Manager
Your Experience
* You will have previously worked in a commercial hospitality environment at a supervisory level or above.
* Demonstrable experience for providing effective customer service
* Experience of acting a Designated Premises Supervisor
Your Knowledge
* Significant knowledge of the commercial hospitality sector, particularly in relation to bar operations and staff management, including alcohol licensing requirements.
* Significant understanding of health and safety legislation and how to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of the staff, tenants and public at all times.
* Significant knowledge of commercial financial management, including purchasing and pricing strategies and stock management.
Your Skills
* You will be able to evidence strong numeracy and IT skills
* Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with all staff, tenants and stakeholders effectively.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret data, particularly around profit/loss and commercial performance.
Your qualifications
* You must be a Personal Licence Holder
