The Job: Provide guidance and support to the development teams during the implementation of data solutions.
Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing appropriate data governance and management practices.
Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools that can enhance the bank’s data capabilities.
Design Data Architecture: Develop and maintain the data architecture, data models, and standards for the organization.
Data Governance: Implement data governance and management practices to ensure data quality and integrity.
Data Security: Design and implement data security measures to protect the organization’s data assets.
Data Integration: Design and implement data integration strategies and technologies to ensure that data is accessible and usable across the organization.
Data Strategy Alignment: Align the data architecture with the organization’s business goals and IT strategy.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership in the development and deployment of complex data projects.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure that the data solutions meet their needs.
Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools that can enhance the organization’s data capabilities.
Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor team members on data architecture principles and practices.
Documentation: Document the data architecture and related processes, standards, and guidelines.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to data management.
Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of the data architecture.
Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure the availability and integrity of the organization’s data assets.
The Person: Strong knowledge of data architecture principles and practices, as well as TOGAF methodologies.
Proven experience in designing and implementing data solutions, ideally in a large retail bank.
Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in database technologies, data modeling tools, and data integration techniques.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A strategic thinker, with the ability to understand the bank’s business goals and align the data solutions with these goals.
