Property Lawyer

Contract Type: 3 months initially
Rate: £40-£50 - Negotiable DOE
A local authority based in North Wales is looking to bring in an experienced Property Lawyer to help their Legal Services team due to a peak in workload. This role involves handling a non-contentious caseload, providing expert legal advice on property, procurement, and contract law, and supporting key council priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide legal advice and draft documentation for property transactions, procurement, and contract law matters.
* Advise on freedom of information requests related to legal practice.
* Represent the Council in tribunals, hearings, mediations, and inquiries when required.
* Deliver training within areas of expertise and support junior staff and trainees.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support a collaborative, one-council approach.
* Ensure high standards of legal practice, engage in continuous professional development, and attend relevant training.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer, or Barrister with a current practising certificate.
* Minimum 2 years' post-qualified experience in one or more of the following areas: procurement law, property transactions, and construction contracts.
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Experience with procurement challenges, property litigation, or project management (desirable).
