We are currently seeking a Product Manager for our client who is based in rural Cambridgeshire and close to Royston. We are seeking someone to act as a strategic champion for the company's existing and future range of Gas and Particulate Sensors. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving company and play a pivotal role in developing strategies to promote the company's pioneering products and solutions. This is a full-time permanent position based at the company site in Fowlmere.

The role
This role stands at the core of product management capability for the ongoing maintenance and life cycle management of existing sensors, alongside the design and creation of new products. In addition, you will also be supporting both the development and sale of this product range as well as assisting in educating the wider business and its partners. Therefore, it is vital that you can swiftly develop a deep understanding of sensors and the role they play in protecting lives and preserving the environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Take full ownership of the sensors range.
2. Canvas opinion across the company's external partnerships and internal stakeholders to ensure products meet current and future needs.
3. Review with the international sales team, the current route to market, assessing suitability for Sensor products and proposing adjustments where needed.
4. Conduct product feasibility and market research to identify customer problems and make creative recommendations for new products.
5. Help to produce validated business cases for all suggested projects prior to creating Market Requirements Specifications (MRS), specifying features of new products for all key stakeholders.
6. Develop and maintain product roadmaps, consistent with the product market strategy and covering full product lifecycles.
7. Work alongside the Project Management Team, R&D, and operations to ensure that all new products are delivered on budget, on time, and in line with MRS.
8. Provide product and applications support to the sales team, further enabling them to secure business through direct, global subsidiary, and distributor networks, thus delivering the Sensors sales target.
9. Support all partners with product and application information.
10. Work with the Commercial Services Manager to ensure the supply chain delivers product in a fast and effective way.
11. Monitor global developments to establish a market-leading position vs. competition.
12. Work closely with R&D and the product verification lab to design and execute competitor testing programs to identify strengths and weaknesses and feed into product development and marketing collateral.
13. Provide sales and marketing information to allow product collateral to be created. Aid in the creation of marketing collateral including, but not limited to: manuals, data sheets, comparison guides, promotional items, and video content.
14. Help develop and implement 'Go-To-Market' strategies including possible test marketing and launch activities.
15. Work with sales and marketing to identify early adopters and run beta trials with existing or prospective customers.
16. Provide sales and marketing support and training to internal and external stakeholders wherever required.
17. Proactively assist in other areas of the business as and where necessary.
The Person
For this important role, we are seeking someone with the following skills and attributes:
1. An experienced product manager, ideally within the gas detection industry.
2. Formal product management training desirable.
3. Customer-oriented with the ability to build effective working relationships.
4. Strategic, methodical, logical, and detail-oriented, whilst still delivering against deadlines.
5. An excellent communicator, with the ability to influence at all levels.
6. Keen, eager, and able to deliver a comprehensive product portfolio.
7. Decisive with any available information, taking positive action in a timely manner.
8. Possess a multidiscipline approach with the ability to perform different roles for the good of the company.
9. Organised and a good planner, able to act independently, self-organised and able to prioritise workload to deliver results.
10. Have strong numeracy skills for analysing and interpreting data, and for compiling compelling business cases.
11. Strong industry knowledge and competitor understanding.
12. Able to investigate, document, and maintain records accurately.
13. Be professional, assertive, and amenable at all times and familiarity with market drivers, for example, legislation and technological advancements.
14. Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills and experience of delivering and preparing presentations at all levels in a variety of business forums.
This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. The salary offered is depending on experience and offers benefits.
