Role: Content manager
Department: Creative
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Base: Flexible hybrid working (Brighton & Soho offices)
Application deadline: 19th January 2025
First of all; Who are we and why do we exist?
Addmustard is a brand, marketing and technology agency for entrepreneurs.
From world-class research, creative, marketing, data and customer technology, we help our clients join up their brand, marketing, and technology to build tangible value in their businesses.
We are a team of 50 brilliant brand, marketing and technology experts: a core in-house team based in Soho, London. And another in Brighton, Sussex. Supported by a network of specialists from around the world.
And who exactly are we looking for?
We’re after a content expert who is part perfectionist, part creative dynamo, and part client-whisperer. We need an initiator who can manage our content planning, production and comms, keeping everything running like clockwork while ensuring every pixel, comma, and concept is on-brand. We’ll need you to work closely with all other areas of the agency, from SEO, brand, paid media and CRO, so your collaboration and co-ordination skills will need to be on point.
Our own brand and culture is bold, precise, energetic and irreverent. And you will need to be all four, too. You’ll communicate with conviction and passion, and be the gatekeeper of tone, style and visuals. Nothing will get past you unless it’s pristine, polished and has purpose.
You will develop into a trusted advisor for the clients you work with and you’ll love working hard to drive growth and value in their businesses. You’ll want to live and breathe our clients’ businesses, their brands and the teams behind them. The person we’re searching for cares about getting it right.
Key responsibilities
* Researching, defining and implementing integrated content strategies across our clients to support the overall account strategy and contribute to the delivery of agreed objectives.
* Ideating, researching, writing, proofreading, and publishing content for a range of clients and channels including email, social media, and SEO.
* Contributing to, and helping develop, attention-grabbing campaigns in line with our clients’ brand spirit and guidelines.
* Managing the creation and delivery of the department’s roadmaps, ensuring resourcing needs and deadlines are met.
* Inputting into new business development and pitching.
* Supporting our curated team of freelance writers (our ‘Scribblers’) by briefing and assigning content production, managing deadlines, and answering queries.
* Working with our clients’ content management systems (CMS), uploading and editing website content, and optimising existing content to improve organic visibility.
* Auditing client and competitor websites to provide recommendations and opportunities for content performance improvements.
* Interpreting or defining client briefs and requirements, and working with the team to go beyond the brief and push ideas and concepts to their full potential.
* Working with our brand team to define and interpret different audiences and helping to develop tone of voice guidelines.
* Working alongside SEO teams to create content that hits our SEO objectives, from visibility and traffic to internal linking and engagement.
* Working with our design team on page improvements and supporting the teams in terms of copy and when required rich content (imagery/videos).
Skills and experience
* Creative thinker, target driven and willing to get stuck in where needed.
* Experience working in an agency setting and managing content strategies, roadmaps, activities and deadlines.
* An understanding of the principles of SEO and ranking algorithms.
* A proven track record in setting, reporting and delivering against measurable objectives and KPIs.
* A talent for juggling multiple deadlines and tasks.
* A passion to produce beautiful things, whether that’s through writing, photography, video or something else.
* Ability to generate unique ideas and articulate them to the team and our clients.
* Naturally organised with a logical, calm approach to projects and challenges.
* Previous experience using Google Analytics and other SEO tools such as AWR and SearchMetrics is desirable, but not essential.
How is addmustard different from the rest?
We understand the unique pressures and challenges of funding and growing an entrepreneurial business.
We work on performance fee structures, aligning us with our clients’ financial objectives. So they can make intelligent marketing and technology investment decisions, grow their businesses profitably and build tangible, balance sheet value in their brands.
We take all of this very seriously. But you’ll be pleased to know, we take ourselves a little less seriously.
What does that mean for you?
We pride ourselves on being straight-talking, diligent, good value and innovative in everything we do for our entrepreneurial clients. Equally, we pride ourselves in being open, honest, innovative and hard working in everything we do for our team.
You’ll be surrounded and supported by a team who embolden and challenge you to go into every day with those values in mind. We’ve built (and are very proud of) our completely flat and integrated organisational structure – we don’t care where the good ideas come from, as long as they can be turned into something astonishing and tangible.
And when those ideas get made, we love nothing more than to celebrate them.
What’s in it for you?
In return for your experience, creativity and incredible mind, you can expect:
* To work alongside and be trained by industry experts at the forefront of brand, marketing and technology.
* Unlimited holiday.
* Flexi time: flexible working hours and hybrid working structure, sharing your time between working from home and our offices in Brighton’s Laines and eclectic Soho.
* £500 personal training budget, allocated every 6 months. You decide how and where to spend it. Providing it’s helping your career.
* Pension scheme, gym membership and ride to work scheme.
* Be part of an amazing, sociable and supportive team with far too frequent socials.
* Our senior management is accessible, open, honest and transparent. This means we all care about you and your development, progression, success and happiness. And we regularly share financial, team, and client performance with the whole agency.
