Holistic Support Advisor (Care Leavers Service) - Dormanstown, Redcar 267549
We have an exciting opportunity available to join our Supported Living team in Redcar as a Holistic Support Advisor.
You will accept referrals and carry a caseload of customers. You will provide information, advice, and guidance to engage and support young people leaving care with their support and housing needs.
Your role will enable and empower them to sustain a tenancy and access various statutory and voluntary services to improve their circumstances. You will support them through home and community visits, developing a robust risk and support plan.
This demanding and rewarding role requires a driven person with a sound knowledge of social care referral pathways, sound “daily living skills” knowledge, as well as a skill for problem solving and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, as well as respond calmly and effectively to crisis.
The ideal candidate will be confident, approachable, and knowledgeable, possessing a calm and composed demeanour. You should have the ability to take charge of a situation and empower customers to become more independent. A solid understanding of a Trauma-Informed Approach, safeguarding, and mental capacity is highly desirable.
You will be able to communicate clearly and confidently with young people, as well as with fellow housing and support professionals in both the statutory sector and the third/voluntary sector.
As you will proactively support young people, some with complex support needs, you will be required to provide regular out of hours planned and responsive support.
Internal candidates must discuss a secondment with their line manager before applying for this role.
