Job overview
We have a vacancy for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist with a proven interest in making a difference for children and young people.
Children's Therapies is a large, well-established integrated Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy Team. Therapists work in a variety of community settings and support children with physical disabilities or coordination difficulties.
As a valued member of this team you will be responsible for delivering child-centred occupational therapy support to facilitate participation in activities and development of skills & independence. You will have access to senior support, regular supervision and opportunity to work closely with other professions to meet the needs of children referred to the team.
This is a community-based post and you will need a current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to meet the travel requirements of this post.
Main duties of the job
1. To deliver occupational focused assessments and 1:1 or group interventions to children and young people with physical disabilities / movement problems in focus provision schools.
2. To provide advice and training to school staff / family members to help with the confident implementation of therapy recommendations.
3. To assess for specialist seating / equipment to support therapy goals.
4. To complete written reports to support the EHCP process.

Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC registration
* Member of BAOT
* Member of CYPF network
Experience
* Evidence of under-graduate/postgraduate experience working with children in a professional or voluntary capacity
* Evidence of post-graduate experience of working with children with additional needs in a professional capacity.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
