The Role - Buyer (Aftermarket)
Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for your next opportunity?
We are working on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturing business in Wolverhampton that is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their team.
As a Buyer in the Aftermarkets segment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless supply and delivery of bespoke parts and components to support the production and repair team.
Duties – Buyer (Aftermarket)
* Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products in line with customer demand and inventory targets
* Liaise with suppliers to manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure materials are available to meet production deadlines
* Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to optimize production efficiency and minimize waste
* Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to forecast material requirements and adjust planning as necessary
* Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
* Identify potential supply chain risks and implement contingency plans to avoid disruption
* Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, materials, and suppliers
Background – Buyer (Aftermarket)
* Proven experience of procurement in a mechanical manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of production planning, materials management, and inventory control
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships
* Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems for planning and procurement
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
* A proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
