Experienced Interim SHE Manager required for chilled food manufacturing business.
My client is in urgent need of an experienced Interim SHE Manager to join the business on a 3-6-month interim contract to start asap. Ideally within the next 2-3 weeks to have a handover with the current incumbent.
My client is a highly successful chilled food manufacturing business in the UK, producing products for the major retailers.
This role is inside IR35 paying £ – £ per day.
This is a permitted site so there is a big focus on Environmental in fact 50% of the role is environment focussed. They have an effluent plant, ammonia plant, and discharge of water into local water course. They are willing to train the Environmental side but is obviously desirable so the interim could hit the ground running.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as Site SHE Manager will be:
1. The upkeep of environmental permit conditions
2. Devise and implement SHE strategies
3. Ensure all Health, Safety and Environment legal requirements, policies, standards, procedures are interpreted, communicated, documented and systems exist to ensure the Business Unit is compliant with current legislation and internal policies regarding SHE
4. Develop, implement, maintain, communicate, and continuously improve the Health, Safety and Environment management system for the business, ensuring that all relevant paperwork and reports are completed and issued to relevant parties as required
5. Design, implement, monitor, and report SHE performance, analyse trends and develop actions plans to deliver targets regarding SHE
6. Identification and coordination of SHE training and development for managers
7. Promote and drive a culture of continuous improvement of Health & Safety and best environmental practice through the effective engagement of the workforce.
8. Ensure all incidents are investigated, recorded, and reported, identifying and recommending improved practices to reduce accidents
9. Monitor risk assessment process and provide assistance / advice to assessors to ensure risk assessments / safe systems of work are maintained and meet regulatory requirements
10. Co-ordinate Business Unit actions with regard to enforcement authorities / loss adjusters and that any communications are reported to the Head of Operations
To apply you will ideally have:
11. Diploma level NEBOSH H&S and Environmental qualification or equivalent
12. Significant experience as an Interim Health & Safety Manager role within the food industry
13. Strong communication skills both in terms of verbal / presentation skills and written documentation and a team player
14. Strong problem solving skills
