Purpose and scope of job
To support the business in the achievement of its goals through the delivery of effective underwriting.To support the Head of Underwriting and senior managers across the business with implementing the appropriate risk appetite and effective changes of policy & procedures whilst maintaining the focus of the customer at the heart of everything we do
* Underwriting loan applications in line with the credit policy framework.
* Analysing and assessing clients credit worthiness and vehicle valuations leading to making a responsible lending decision whilst considering portfolio metrics.
* Creating lending solutions for more complex borrowing structures.
* Preparing ad hoc credit reports to the Head of Underwriting and Chief Credit Officer and wider stakeholder environment and presentation of portfolio analytics and initiatives at Committee levels.
* Liaising with the Sales & Client Services Teams along with Introducers to optimise the client experience.
* Fully compliant with all on-line training, including all AML and Regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
* Credit and underwriting experience in motor finance / asset finance.
* Ability to interpret financial statements and management accounts.
* Strong numeracy, reporting and Excel skills.
* Experience within credit underwriting, ideally in the motor finance industry.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Able to communicate at all levels with attention to detail.
* Self-starter, capable of working individually or as a part of a team.
* To excel in delivering a customer focused solution within risk appetite.
* Experience of working with HNW individuals.
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and to explain technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
