Qualifications and Training
Essential Criteria:
* CCAB qualified/Finalist
* Degree in Accounting/Finance related field
Desirable Criteria:
* Management qualification
Experience
Essential Criteria:
* Experience of working in a financial management function in a large and complex organisation
* Experience with using different accounting software
* Experience in preparing and analysing financial reports, budgets and forecasts
* Experience of leading a team
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience of working with and advising senior leaders
* Experience of liaising and working with Commissioners / NHSE
Knowledge and Skills
Essential Criteria:
* Highly numerate with strong analytical and critical reasoning skills
* A wide and specialist knowledge of financial and accounting procedures. Be able to demonstrate technical expertise in financial matters following legislation and finance policies
* Ability to provide advice and guidance on the principles of budgetary control and reporting and explain complex information to non-specialists.
* Ability to manage an extensive and complex workload efficiently
* Effective and strong financial management and financial planning skills
* Negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to problem solve
* Ability to deal confidently and diplomatically with colleagues at all levels.
* Ability to work on own initiative and make decisions relating to non-routine tasks without seeking approval from managers
Desirable Criteria:
* Knowledge of current key NHSE policies and priorities and their impact on role/Trust.
* A clear understanding of the financial regime within the NHS and be able to articulate them to non-financial colleagues
