Our client is recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor based out of their office in Warrington but covering projects throughout the North West of England. Salary will be paid commensurate with experience.
They work within Aviation & Infrastructure, specialising in restoring, maintaining, replacing and repairing paved surfaces and providing Airfield Ground Lighting infrastructure services in operationally sensitive areas such as airfields, ports and other secure locations.
Their contracting works incorporate:
Taxiway and runway rehabilitation schemes
Pavement joint repairs and maintenance
Pavement infrastructure repair, maintenance and protection
Project delivery including design verification, installation and maintenance
Surfacing schemes
Asphalt preservation
The role has come about due to our client sustaining new and exciting projects and you will work alongside their commercial and site teams.
What you’ll do:-
The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive. Reporting to the Senior Management Team you will:
Provide commercial support to aid with the delivery of the businesses contracts
Provide accurate and timely reports to project management team whilst assisting with ensuring the contract achieves the appropriate commercial targets
Ensure that all reporting is accurate and completed to agreed timescales
Maintain and coordinate all commercial reports required for the successful commercial management of the contract
To assist site teams by managing, placing and processing supply chain orders
Management of site material, plant and labour trackers with accurate and accessible information
Ensure the accuracy of all commercial data
Support the management team with the procurement of subcontractors
Preparation of Sub-Contract documentation ensuring all main contract provisions have been sufficiently passed through to the supply chain to ensure risk is mitigated, and to ensure that any additional risks have been covered
Timely payment administration of all subcontractor accounts, in line with the payment schedule and contract conditions
What you'll bring
Essential Criteria
At least 2 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying environment, performing relevant tasks accurately and confidently.
A thorough understanding of the financial and commercial issues facing construction projects.
Ability to work in a team environment, contributing across the business unit.
Good operational planning and time management skills: ability to manage the project without compromising on standards and quality.
Willing attitude to succeed both personally and professionally, and also to promote company success alongside.
Full Valid Driving Licence, with access to a vehicle for travel.
Desirable Criteria
BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline)
Experience with and working knowledge of NEC Contract forms
Working towards professional membership of an appropriate organisation (for example, RICS/ICES etc)
Hours of work Monday - Thursday 8am-5.30pm, Friday 8am-4.30pm
The successful candidate will be required to complete a BPSS Check and Security Clearance before commencing employment or during their probationary period
