The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an Asset Manager to oversee the management of NBCS’s portfolio assets. The Asset Manager will report directly to the Senior Asset Manager and work in parallel with the investment team as well as CAM’s core functions and with the fund portfolio/project partners. This role will specifically focus on execution and oversight of assets in the NBCS portfolio, improving the performance of project partners and providing both technical and operational guidance to ensure the Funds mandates are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage on-ground project partners and fulfil all responsibilities under Contract Implementation and Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management, and Reporting and Documentation.
* Support completion of asset annual strategic plans, budgets, valuations and completion of project milestones.
* Support asset management staff in procurement and supervision of third-party providers including auditors, consultants and valuers.
* Lead the review and selection to ensure suitable project partners are selected.
* Collaborate with the NBCS Investment Team through the investment process and provide input on the ability of the asset management team to execute the investment strategy.
* Oversee NBCS’s asset portfolio delivery and performance in alignment with CAM’s Asset Management Framework.
* Support and supervise the activities and performance of the NBCS assets.
* Oversee review, standardization, implementation and improvement of operational processes and systems for NBCS assets.
* Liaise with CAM project counterparties to ensure adequate implementation of project activities in accordance with relevant project contracts and international standards.
* Lead major fund level projects including international carbon market development and sales, procurement, stakeholder engagement and ESG initiatives.
Who We're Looking For:
* Strong proven professional operational experience in project management, forestry and/or agriculture and carbon project development (5-10 years of relevant experience).
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
* Minimum 4 years of experience in direct operational management or project partner experience in emerging markets.
* Experience in team leadership within a functional matrix structure.
* Experience in funds management in an institutional investment context.

* Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.
* Ability to adapt to change quickly and effectively.
* A positive attitude and drives employee engagement.
* Creative analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
* Ability to travel to projects throughout Africa, LATAM, and Asia.
