As one of the UK’s largest independent manufacturers supplying to the commercial sector my client manufactures fine chemicals and rubber accelerators and has a history spanning over 150 years. With their headquarters in West Bromwich, they are true pioneers within the chemicals industry.
Due to continued, strategic expansion, an opportunity has now arisen for a Customer Services Coordinator, with a background in the shipping of dangerous good, to join them at their manufacturing facility in the West Midlands. In this key role within the organisation, you will support the company’s operations and provide exceptional services to a global client-base. The key responsibilities for your new role as Customer Services Coordinator are as follows:
* Operating in compliance with ISO 9001 standards, managing customer orders through email, telephone and customer portals.
* Proactively monitoring and communicating order progress, ensuring On Time In Full deliveries and handling customer queries and requests efficiently.
* Collaborating effectively with internal teams, including operations, quality, warehouse, R&D and sales, whilst maintaining strong relationships with global customers and freight agents.
* Preparing, calculating and tracking quotations, providing accurate and timely responses to external customer requests.
* Coordinating and preparing documentation to facilitate domestic and international transport of goods, ensuring compliance with destination-specific and road, air or sea transport regulations.
* Ensuring timely and accurate completion of order, meeting monthly, quarterly and sea transport regulations.
* Participating in sales and operations meetings, providing customer updates and distributing meeting minutes, as required.
* Maintaining customer accounts by monitoring order patterns, analysing trends and delivering accurate forecast updates.
* Supporting departmental administration, including filing, scanning and visitor hospitality.
My client is keen to hear from people with a minimum of two years’ experience in the export and shipping industry and who hold a suitable qualification in the movement of Dangerous Goods. Regardless of previous expertise, you will possess excellent communication, organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills and be comfortable working in a fast-moving industrial environment.
In return, my client is offering an excellent salary, circa £30,000, for a 36.25 hour week. A benefits package is also on offer which includes 25 days holiday, plus Bank holidays, pension, life assurance and paid sick leave. The working hours for the role are Monday-Friday 8.45am to 4.30pm and opportunities for further progression are readily available for those who want it.
