We're looking for a HR Generalist to provide advisory support across all ‘People’ processes within the employee life cycle and employee relations, acting as a key driver for colleague engagement activities and project work onsite within the Recycle People Team.
Your key focus will be to support ‘People Managers’ at our Telford office, which typically includes Team Leaders, Team Managers, and Operational Managers.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
1. Advice and Feedback on ER and Policy
o Review and provide feedback on people policy and process.
o Communicate change to stakeholders.
o Provide updates on employment legislation.
2. Administrative Support
o Provide operational and administrative support from issuing change of terms documents, disciplinary documents through to offboarding.
o Support where needed with Payroll onsite.
3. Coach Managers with People Related Knowledge – Provide coaching and training on-site to managers relating to people activity (this could include investigations, disciplinary, welfare, appeals, grievances, performance management).
4. People Data – Provide data, insights, and KPI data as required.
5. Systems – Ensure HR systems are updated accurately and fully utilized.
6. Continuous Improvement
o Identify ways to improve existing policies and procedures.
o Continuously learn and evolve HR good practice to improve business performance.
7. Site Induction Support – Coordinate and deliver on-site ‘People/HR’ inductions.
8. Projects - Drive HR projects and initiatives as required.
9. People Plans – Work with the People Business Partner to deliver the site people plans.
10. Talent – Support the Talent Strategy
o Support with key recruitment activity, identifying the right culture and skills fit.
o Support with the retention of talent.
11. High Performance Culture - Support with creating a high-performing culture, managing poor performance, and having meaningful conversations.
12. Lead on Driving a Positive Colleague Experience
o Provide feedback to the wider People Team on the colleague lifecycle.
o Promote a positive and inclusive culture and advocate for colleagues.
o Act as a role model against our values - leading on promoting the values, engagement, and wellbeing activities.
o Ensure strong 2-way communication.
o Act as a Trusted Advisor and provide positive challenge to stakeholders.
o Encourage a culture of recognition and engagement on site.
o Develop Capability – Work with the Talent Manager to retain and develop colleagues.
o Share Success and Best Practice – Across site teams.
