If yes, this could be the role for you The opportunity Exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a dynamic team and be responsible for reporting directly to the Project Director, provides leadership to site teams and is responsible for scheduling, workface planning, coordination, supervision, cost control, and ensuring the safety and productivity of the teams at the worksite. This includes overseeing site installations and associated cabling. The Project Manager plays a key role in managing relationships with contractors, the company, and clients. Remuneration and benefits £70,000 - £95,000 per annum, depending on experience Your duties and responsibilities will be Safety The Project Manager must promote and ensure a culture of safety on-site. They are accountable for the safety of the teams under their direction and must understand the legal responsibilities involved. Responsibilities include: Understanding and complying with safety regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety guidelines. Coordinating and facilitating safety training for teams. Leading safety toolbox meetings and ensuring hazard assessments are completed. Addressing any safety issues promptly and participating in safety incident investigations. Leadership and Supervision The Project Manager is responsible for effectively coordinating teams and ensuring adherence to company and project policies and procedures. This includes: Organising manpower and assessing the competency and capability of construction teams. Assigning tasks, setting work standards, and ensuring team morale and productivity. Providing mentorship and coaching to team members, including apprentices. Addressing and resolving issues among crew members and applying corrective actions when necessary. Planning and Scheduling The Project Manager ensures that project plans and schedules are followed and adjusted as needed to meet production goals. Responsibilities include: Ensuring that the field installation work package (FIWP) is complete, with all required tools and materials available. Identifying any scheduling conflicts and addressing them with other teams and contractors. Translating project requirements into prioritized work plans for each crew. Monitoring the progress of work and adjusting schedules to maintain deadlines. Quality Control The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that work meets the required standards and implementing work processes to improve productivity and quality. This includes: Overseeing the execution of work, ensuring it meets job specifications and design drawings. Reviewing inspection reports and coordinating resolutions for any deficiencies identified. Administration The Project Manager handles the preparation of various reports and documentation for the project, including: Maintaining supervisor logs and diaries. Reporting on team production, work progress, and any changes. Approving material requisitions and ensuring quality control reports are completed. Making recommendations for personnel actions, including hiring, promotions, and corrective actions. Lead and organise teams effectively. Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. Assess crew skills and coach team members to meet performance standards. Resolve conflicts and foster a cooperative work environment. Plan and implement workface schedules efficiently. Handle administrative duties, including reporting and documentation. Use technology and time management techniques to meet project deadlines. You will have the following qualifications and experience Educational Qualification: Mechanical / Electrical Degree / HND / HNC, or relevant experience. Project construction scope and objectives. Company safety programs, policies, and procedures. Occupational health and safety regulations. Technical drawing interpretation and project specifications. Scheduling and planning for construction projects. Professional Registration: Chartered or Member status is desirable. Training: Completed CILM Training or equivalent. Certifications: CSCS Managers & Professionals or CCNSG certification. Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role and familiarity with various construction trades.
