What It Takes:
An important part of the staff role is to support the needs of individuals through the ethos and values of Praxis Care.
So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.
Our dedicated staff team support our service users to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day to day life.
Where You Would Work: Plasden Court, Wythenshawe - Manchester

Plasden Court is a 24 hour temporary supported accommodation in Wythenshawe, South Manchester. We support adults who have experienced, or are experiencing a mental health diagnosis and are looking to develop independence skills to enable independent living.
Every working day at Plasden is different. One day a support worker may be supporting to light the BBQ, supporting to an appointment, then organising a mindfulness group in the evening.
They may also use their motivational interviewing skills to help people we support to look at positive change in their lives. All support is person centred, tailor made and flexible.
People who live at at Plasden look for empathy, patience, honesty, pro-active, good listening skills, being calm in a crisis, easy to talk to and being non-judgemental from support workers who are providing support.
Plasden is a proactive, dynamic, professional work environment which aims to provide support workers with the ability to express innovation & feel involved in the day to day operational aspects.

Salary Details:
Support Worker Part Time Contracts Available £12 per Hour
Where the role requires sleep-ins, a minimum additional payment of £45.00 per night applies*
