Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Band 6 Respiratory Physiotherapist to join the Community Respiratory Service at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. The role involves delivering high:quality physiotherapy interventions to patients with long:term respiratory conditions, including pulmonary rehabilitation and airway clearance therapy. The successful candidate will work independently in various community:based settings, conducting therapeutic assessments and developing individualized treatment plans to support patient rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy interventions, including pulmonary rehabilitation and airway clearance therapy.

Conduct therapeutic assessments and develop evidence:based treatment plans for patients with long:term respiratory conditions.
*
Deliver patient education sessions as part of the pulmonary rehabilitation program.
*
Work independently in community settings such as health centres, community centres, and patients homes.
*
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), patients, carers, and external agencies.
*
Undertake evidence:based audits to evaluate clinical practice and contribute to service development.
*
Participate in pulmonary rehabilitation audits and research alongside senior therapists.
*
Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff and students as required.
Key Requirements
*
Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy and HCPC registration
*
NHS experience, including relevant placements.
*
Experience in pulmonary rehabilitation.
*
Ability to work independently in a community setting and as part of an MDT.
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*
Knowledge of relevant assessment tools and outcome measures.
*
Willingness to participate in audits and research to support service improvement.
*
Ability to travel frequently within the borough during work hours.
