The School aged Immunisation Team works in Schools and Community settings across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. The Team is involved in the promotion, planning, and high-quality safe and efficient delivery of the School aged immunisation programme within Schools and Community settings, as directed by NHS England.
The Immunisation team has two bases: Pill Health Clinic and Eastgate Centre, but the immunisations are given in Education and Community settings across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
The School Immunisation Team aims to improve the uptake and safe delivery of a large-scale immunisation programme within Education and Community settings, contributing towards the public health agenda by improving health outcomes for children and young people.

Main duties of the job
1. Support the administration of School age immunisations including HPV, MenACWY, Td/IPV, and Flu in all settings.
2. Maintain effective communication with children, young people, and their families at all times.
3. Work collaboratively with School Nurses, Education staff, Primary Care, and Public Health Services to ensure good communication and to support the planning and delivery of a high-quality and efficient School Immunisation programme.
4. Collaborate with teams to maximise vaccination uptake and meet vaccination targets set by NHS England.
5. Ensure that the cold chain procedures are maintained when receiving, packing, and during immunisation sessions in line with the local Immunisation Standard Operating procedures.
6. Provide flexible administrative support including data entry during and after the immunisation sessions, booking clinic appointments, assisting at clinics, and undertaking training activities as directed by the Clinical Lead.

The post holder is required to have a valid driving license and have the use of a car for work purposes. The post involves transporting vaccines and equipment. Usual working hours are between 0800-1600, however, some flexibility to cover after school and weekend clinics is required.

Qualifications
* Functional Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 / GCSE grade A-C or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics / NVQ2 / level 2 diploma
* Trained in a range of systems / IT applications relevant to the role e.g. email, word, and excel programmes, ordering, data collection
* Educated to AS/A level standard
* NVQ3, VQ3, BTEC certificate, and diploma level 3
Experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills written and verbal
* Able to deal sensitively with anxious/distressed children and adults
* Proactive approach - highly self-motivated with the ability to use one's initiative
* Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing workforce demands
* Excellent organisational skills
* A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
* Experience working with children and young people and schools
* Practical immunisation session experience
* Experience of data entry and reporting

£24,071 to £25,674 a year per annum, pro rata.
