Role
As the charitable subsidiary of West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA), Willowacre Trust's overarching aim is to tackle social and economic disadvantage and impact on tenancy sustainment within the communities served by WSHA. Our values (respect, inclusive, integrity, improvement, and support) shape how we act, our decisions, and the services we provide.
Our staff are at the heart of our business and we support them to be their best, which is demonstrated with 84% of staff saying WSHA is a good place to work. We provide a friendly, inclusive environment and, depending on the role, the flexibility of a hybrid model of working (mix of home and office). Staff also benefit from a generous holiday allowance of 40 days. We know that to deliver outstanding customer service, we must ensure our staff are happy, healthy, and motivated, and we put a strong focus on staff wellbeing, which is reflected in our gold accreditation for Healthy Working Lives. All staff also have free access to a comprehensive Employee Support Service.
We are an equal opportunities employer and positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, age, or religion or belief. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with a disability or from a black or minority ethnic background.
Disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria will, where possible, be granted an interview under the Disability Confident scheme.
We are looking for a new Community Worker for our Cycling Project who shares our values and will use them to guide the way they work on a daily basis. Willowacre Trust currently operates a community bike and cycle project from our community centre at Barrowfield. The project delivers free repairs and refurbishments of bikes and provides access to led cycling sessions, along with opportunities for local people to volunteer. Working with local communities and partners, the post will support the increase, reach, and capacity of the existing cycling project and support the expansion of the project in two new communities, Springburn and Woodlands.
This post will be based across the Barrowfield Community Hub and our community hubs in Springburn and Woodlands.
You should have:
* Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* The ability to motivate and encourage community participation within hard-to-reach groups.
* Experience of developing and delivering community activities, events, and group work sessions.
* Experience of working with and managing volunteers.
* Knowledge and passion for promoting cycling.
* Experience of bike repairs and refurbishment.
Completed applications must be returned by 11pm on Sunday 16th March 2025.
Provisional interview date is Monday 24th March 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of The Scottish Civic Trust, a small charity with a national remit. Our organisation is experiencing a period of dynamic growth and we are seeking an Office Co-ordinator to support us as we continue our journey.
The Scottish Civic Trust is the national voice for Scotland’s civic and local heritage groups. Founded in 1967 to help people connect to their built heritage and countryside, preserve the uniqueness of their locality and appreciate how this connects to the wider unique character of Scotland, we work to ensure that historic built heritage, its stories, and the wider historic environment are celebrated and preserved, working to ensure it is valued in modern life and planning decisions. We take a place-based approach to involving all of Scotland’s communities in celebrating our rich heritage while ensuring its relevance in the present day.
Main purpose of job:
The purpose of the role is to support the Finance Manager in the administration of the Scottish Civic Trust (SCT) and management of tenant relations at The Scottish Civic Trust’s headquarters at The Tobacco Merchant’s House. The post also provides support to the Director, ensuring the smooth running of board and committee meetings and will aid other staff members in the development and delivery of their projects.
The Supported Housing Worker role requires assisting in the management of the development, thus ensuring the tenants are able to enjoy an acceptable standard of living in an environment that is clean, safe, and friendly. You will be responsible for overseeing the wellbeing of the tenants and for assisting them in maintaining their independence.
As Housing Care Worker, your role will involve working with our tenants to ensure they receive the support and personal care identified in their care plans. You will directly support tenants in their homes by providing individual advice, practical housing support assistance, and personal care.
Both roles are to ensure that we are able to offer the best service to our tenants and make it possible for our tenants to continue enjoying as much independent living as they’re able.
As well as a competitive annual salary, our valued team also benefits from:
* Competitive hourly rates of £12.25 - £12.50 per hour (pay award pending).
* Guaranteed rota hours working between 7.30am & 10pm.
* Generous annual leave entitlement.
* A choice of pension scheme with employer contributions.
* Flexible working policies.
* Access to extensive paid training and development opportunities.
* A supportive and inclusive culture.
Previous experience working in social care or the housing sector would be an advantage, but this is not always necessary. Our ideal candidate is someone with enthusiasm, a caring nature, and a willingness to learn, as full training, support, and ongoing development will be provided.
Glasgow East End Community Carers are looking for an experienced person to work with our support team in providing advocacy support to unpaid carers. We have a large group of parent carers who have children with autism and they often have to deal with school headteachers, teachers, and other support staff in making sure their child receives the appropriate support in school.
We also work with other carers, some who are older and also need support in dealing with the Health Service, Social Work, Housing Associations, etc. The role will also include working as part of our team in supporting unpaid carers with the challenges of their role in caring for a loved one. This includes information and advice, support with benefits, working with peer support groups, emotional support, and training.
If you are passionate about making sure people’s voices are heard, we would like to hear from you.
