Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer on a 2 year contract, based in Lisburn
Role Summary:
All aspects of Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering from design to testing, and certification. Supporting global supply chain to sustain and improve manufacturing/supplier processes.
Role:
- Support continuous improvement projects across the Business.
- Work within a cross- functional team to achieve the agreed deliverables (on time), from product concept to final certification and launch.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for developing mechanical designs, using CAD modelling/simulation tools.
- Ensure designs meet and comply with all relevant quality and regulatory standards.
- Development and execution of verification and validation test plans for new product projects.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical/Mechatronics (or equivalent with experience).
- Proven experience in complex mechanical/electrical systems.
- Competency in designing machined metal & sheet metal parts.
- CAD experience - Solidworks / AutoCAD with experience of creating detailed drawings, BOMs and specifications.
- ‘Hands on’ approach to design & testing (ability to assemble and modify prototypes etc.).
- Strong communication skills with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience working in the power/utilities industry.
- Knowledge of Hydraulic/Pneumatic control Systems.
- Experience using FMEA, RCA, 8D tools.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency with PC business applications e.g. Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in the simulation and analysis of mechanical designs (ANSYS).
