Commissioning Engineer
Certain Advantage are hiring for a commissioning engineer based in Beccles. This role is on a permanent basis.

The role:
The Commissioning Engineer will form part of a dedicated team whose primary focus is to transition our automated equipment from completion of build through to customer inspection and sign-off. This stage, known as the commissioning phase, can often present a variety of challenges that are especially prevalent when building bespoke equipment to satisfy our diverse customer base. To overcome these often-unique challenges, our commissioning team is well versed in a variety of skills and works collaboratively to find the solutions necessary to bring about the successful completion of the project.
Responsibilities:
1. Programme and modify control systems using PLCs, servo drives, robots, and other specialized controllers specific to customer requirements.
2. Troubleshoot and adjust mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls equipment.
3. Fault finding and operational assessment of mechanisms both in isolation and in complex form.
4. Modifying systems through electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or software means to enhance performance.
5. Identify opportunities to improve systems with a view to presenting these to other team members.
6. Perform tests using structured processes to build a defined understanding of a mechanism's limitations.
7. Record test results in a suitable manner such that they can be used to support the necessity/direction of further work.
8. Ensure records of all modifications are documented correctly.
The individual:
1. Experience programming programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces using software such as Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Festo, Codesys, Siemens.
2. Knowledge of setting up Servos, VFDs, Remote I/O, Ethernet, and Profibus networks.
3. Proven electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical experience within the automation industry.
4. Ability to follow electrical and pneumatic schematic diagrams and drawings.
5. Knowledge of 6 Axis Robot systems.
6. Identify and understand the requirements of the internal customer.
7. All-around proficiency in communication.
8. Keeping up to date with procedures and news.
