Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK's only international high-speed railway, High Speed (HS1). The 109km HS1 infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts and long tunnels. Brief Description
We are looking for a Assistant Track Maintenance Engineer (High Speed) who will:
Support the Track Maintenance Engineer and wider team with technical knowledge of the wider track discipline, including management, direction and compliance throughout the TME directorate.

About the role (External)
Overview of the role
1. Manage the provision of technical support required for all technical works including track geometry analysis and repair, OTM/OTP works and maintenance plans.
2. Lead and direct the technical support team in the attainment of relevant function objectives.
3. Compile renewal proposals for assets that can no longer be economically maintained to the required condition and reliability levels.
4. Undertake surveillance and audit checks to provide compliance with standards and procedures.
5. Arrange that standards and procedures are controlled and briefed to relevant staff. Prepare and review method statements.
6. Monitor and report compliance to safety critical track inspection and maintenance requirements (including output from the Track recording and asset monitoring vehicles).
7. Arrange that mandatory or mitigating actions are taken to protect traffic in the event of unsafe conditions being found by special inspections including the outputs from Track recording and asset monitoring vehicles.
8. Submit requests for OTM/OTP, engineering trains, long welded trains etc in a timely manner.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Skills
1. Able to demonstrate relevant Railway experience
2. Able to absorb and recall large quantities of information quickly
3. Able to effectively communicate to all levels of people inside and outside the business
4. Strong problem solving skills
Essential
1. Significant track engineering experience
2. HNC or equivalent Civil or Mechanical engineering
Desirable
1. Technician member PWI
