We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join the team here at Medik8!
The Engineering Manager will take the departmental lead at a strategically important Innovation centre located in Aston Clinton, Aylesbury, will be onsite based and report directly to the Head of Manufacturing.
This role's working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm, however flexibility is essential for requirements of the role supporting the business.
The focus is safety first and as Engineering Manager you will champion and proactively promote the safe working ethos amongst your team and contractors. You will lead the preventative maintenance of a manufacturing and logistics site. You will ensure maximum up-time and liaise with logistics and manufacturing managers to support their output targets.
You will also be responsible for the integration of the TGA/FDA projects within the Innovation centre facility. Working closely with our projects team to integrate CAPEX investments within blending and production areas, moving our manufacturing to a more automated and inline process.

In more detail your role will include:
* Implementing and overseeing a structured and robust preventative maintenance plan for key manufacturing assets
* Management of the maintenance team to cover a busy factory and distribution centre ensuring minimal downtime
* Collaborating with Manufacturing and Logistics Managers to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, you will implement CAPEX projects to support the growth of the business
* Lead IQ OQ PQ equipment validations
* Developing the team to adopt a continuous improvement approach to problem solving
* Oversee stock management, spares control, budget control, and supplier relations ensuring quality and reliability in materials and services
* A focus on OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements through both process and machinery improvements.
* Encouraging innovative thinking to issues and solutions throughout the engineering team
* Managing assets such as Blending vessels and mixers, filling lines and material handling equipment, you will ensure maximum up-time and liaise with logistics and manufacturing managers to support their output targets
* Consistently Quality focused, ensuring all regulatory requirements and company policies are adhered to and maintaining the highest standard of product quality through manufacturing
* Ensure proper root cause analysis is carried out for breakdowns and issues with an aim to implement 100-year fixes
What can you bring to the role?
* Experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment operating under GMP (food, pharmaceutical or cosmetics). Have implemented CAPEX projects and delivered high returns on investment
* Experience managing maintenance teams
* Experience in a lean manufacturing background
* Strong communication skills
* Structured presentation of data and ability to track and report on KPI’s
* Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced working environment to meet deadlines
