Introduction
To support our business in achieving our ambitious growth targets, the role of Business Development Manager has been created.
Working with the National Sales Manager and the rest of our operational team, the Business Development Manager will work proactively to introduce our products and services to potential new customers and will be responsible for our penetration into new industry sectors. The post holder will need a working knowledge of B2B sales processes and be able to provide innovative ideas to deliver business growth.
From assessing new enquiries, right the way through to the delivery of the trialled product, the Business Development Manager will work closely with our technical team to develop products and services that match the requirements of prospective new customers. They will also play a key role in the on-boarding of new customers, ensuring a positive experience for all potential new accounts throughout the sales process.
Important to note: this is a field-based position travelling to customers across the UK. Our office is in Brigg, North Lincolnshire, and whilst each week will be different, we expect 1-2 days per week to be based in the office.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop and implement effective sales strategies that deliver new business
* Research and identify new business opportunities; including potential new customers or industries
* Introduce our products and services to potential new customers and develop opportunities
* Build databases of prospects on the company CRM system, including information on appropriate contacts and other useful data
* Generate sales leads by proactively calling and emailing potential new customers to introduce our business
* Create a credible and professional social media presence to utilise for reaching out to potential new customers
* Send out physical samples and sales literature to prospects
* Meet potential new customers face-to-face to assess their requirements
* Maintain data relative to customers, prospects and activities and document customer interactions and communications via the company CRM system
* Achieve sales targets, aligning with the company sales policies and strategies
* Develop our sales process to deliver an industry leading customer experience for all new enquiries, with particular focus on communication
* Establish productive and professional relationships with the key personnel in assigned key accounts
* Meet with existing customers to discuss their evolving needs, upsell, and assess the quality of Rocal Extrusions’ relationship with them
* Negotiate and close agreements with large customers
* Monitor and analyse performance metrics and suggest improvements
* Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales budgets; projecting expected sales volume for existing and new products
* Stay up-to-date with new product launches and initiatives and ensure all team members are on board
* Provide a monthly sales report to display activity based KPIs and update on new business
* Work with customers to create forecasts for effective production planning & sales.
* To offer expert consultancy to customer enquiries and to ensure on time delivery of product trials
* Work closely with our Marketing Team to develop assets that promote our products and services to our target sectors and generate new business enquiries

Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor’s Business Degree minimum 2:1 or equivalent experience
* Experience with the MS Office Suite, strong Excel skills required
* Experience working with CRM Systems – HubSpot knowledge a bonus
* Ability to develop good relationships with current and potential clients
Experience
* 4 + years of experience in B2B Sales
* Plastics industry experience is desirable
