A bit about the role
An exciting role within a friendly, family owned company where staff are trusted and valued. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a role we are looking to invest in, to grow and to develop. The suc-cessful candidate will take ownership of the customer ledger, from setting up new customers on the system all the way through to chasing payment of overdue invoices. Full training will be provided and once up to speed, we are looking for the successful candidate to feel empowered, and to really make the job their own. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised and keen to contribute to ongoing systems and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting up new customers on the system, including credit checks
* Allocating cash to correct customer accounts
* Encouraging customers to pay in full and on time
* Managing bad debt levels
* Issuing monthly statements to all customers
* Raising ad-hoc customer invoices
* Management of customer accounts on the system
* Dealing with external and internal queries
* Work closely with all selling departments of the business
* Completion of the month end close process
* Assist in ad hoc tasks and special projects as and when required
* Deputising for purchase ledger when required

* Experience of using Sage accounting software
* Previous experience of working within an accounting environment
* Previous experience in sales ledger or accounts receivable roles
