We are looking to recruit a committed, resilient and experienced Supervising Social Worker within the Connected People’s Fostering Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in assessing potential foster carers, and supervising and supporting foster carers, plus a chance to be innovative and creative in working alongside other professionals within the service.
The Team undertake robust, analytical assessments which focus on the trauma children have experienced and how the connected carer/applicant can provide the most appropriate care.
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will safeguard and promote the welfare of Cheshire West and Chester's children by delivering a high-quality service, keeping children's wellbeing and safety at the heart of your approach.
The vacancy is for a Supervising Social Worker on the Connected People Team:
Grade 9 (Progressed - completion of ASYE and/or further progression) SCP 27-31: £37,035 - £40,476
Grade 10 (PQ Award/experienced) SCP 31-35: £40,476 - £46,581
The post requires a Social Work qualification, extensive knowledge of legislation underpinning delivery of social care, and at least 3 years post qualifying experience in a statutory setting.
The post holder will:
1. require registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
2. be able to work across the Cheshire West and Chester Borough and beyond.
3. must demonstrate experience and a good understanding of working directly with children and families including working with connected carers/recruited foster carers.

Social Workers receive regular and reflective supervision and they are supported to learn and develop their skills through a comprehensive learning and development programme.
