Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.
Role purpose
We are currently recruiting for a Trainee / Graduate Estimator to work as part of our commercial teams, reporting to our Midsomer Norton office. You will have a mechanical or electrical qualification or related experience.
With a hybrid working model, you would be willing to commute to the Midsomer Norton HQ three times a week. There will be an expectation for some client and site visits as part of this role. As a Trainee and Graduate, there will be an expectation to be in the office full-time for a while until you are confident enough to complete your work without too much support, at which point you will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid model.
The Role
Contracted to 42.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday.
1. Analysing drawings, specifications, and documentation to prepare estimates
2. Attending site visits to undertake surveys
3. Production of accurate quotations
4. Communication with internal and external stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
1. Dynamic and specialist experience in an engineering/manufacturing/fabrication/production sector
2. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering or contracting services
3. Understanding of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor responsibilities under CDM
4. Experience of working from client specifications
5. Knowledge of control panels & MCCs (essential)
6. Full UK driving licence (essential).
Desirable
1. Engineering qualification (electrical/mechanical) (highly desirable)
2. Experience working within the water industry.
