A well-established children's service provider is seeking a Home Manager for a newly refurbished children's home specialising in behavioural difficulties based in Chatham Kent.
This multifaceted provider is an expert in their field, providing child centred care packages for children that instil purpose, self-worth, and the confidence to seek out positive outcomes in later life, be this through detailed assessment and planning, education, key worker sessions, life skills training, safeguarding, complex needs, temporary accommodation, semi-independent or children's residential services.
The provider is seeking someone with a passion for excellence. A forward thinker, you will have experience of setting up a new children’s home or running a new service, reviewing referrals, and successfully commissioning children's placements. Outcomes focused; you will be highly experienced within the children's residential home sector with a portfolio of previous supporting evidence to substantiate your Ofsted knowledge.

With a further few homes already lined up for registration there is a huge amount of progression associated with this role that would see the successful candidate area managing across the UK once this initial flag ship home is established.
Operational Responsibilities
• Supporting the directors and Responsible Individual to achieve registration with OFSTED (Application already in progression).
• Manage the Home and ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies, and the statement of purpose for the home.
• Achieve a quality service; aiming to achieve a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
• Managing and supporting the homes staff team, providing supervision on a regular basis, assessing staff performance, and providing some training.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Safeguarding Legislation and Procedures the Children Act, other relevant legislation and guidance and company policies and procedures.
• To ensure recommendations or requirements from inspection reports and Regulation 44 reports are addressed and resolved within designated timescales.
• Provide written reports for reviews, case conferences and other meetings requested by Senior Staff. Ensure that relevant actions identified at such meetings are implemented accordingly and in timely manner.
Recruitment and leadership
• To provide effective leadership and management of the residential home.
• Recruit, induct, train, and supervise staff.
• Manage, support, and safeguard the children and young people and promote their wellbeing.
• Ensure that the highest possible standards of physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural care are always maintained within the home.
• Create a culture and ethos where the complex needs of each young person are met.
• To ensure the promotion of education, physical health, and emotional well-being of the young people.
Qualifications and Experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
• At least 2 years in a role supervising and managing staff within a children's residential setting or similar setting.
• NVQ Level 3 In Children and Young Peoples work force - Essential.
• LEVEL 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or working towards.
• Recent experience working either as a Registered Manager or as a Children’s Home Deputy Manager.
