Youth Worker (part-time, 21 hours per week)
Chislehurst Youth for Christ Bromley, England, United Kingdom
Salary: £15,682
Description of Job
Chislehurst Youth for Christ is a small Christian charity that aims to make a big difference to the lives of young people in and around the London Borough of Bromley. In 2024 we celebrated our 20th anniversary and developed a new 5-year strategy to continue our work with young people, so this is an exciting time to join us!
About the role
Working as part of a small team, led by our Senior Youth Worker, this role has an important part to play in reaching young people. We work in a variety of settings, such as schools, churches, and the community; our immediate locality is in the 9% most deprived areas in the country. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to use their faith-based passion, experience, and skills to share God’s love in a relevant and practical way to the young people in our community.
About you
A confident communicator, you’ll be able to connect with young people and understand the different challenges and opportunities they face. You’ll be an enthusiastic team member, willing to contribute to the development of new activities and building relationships to see young people grow. You will enjoy a varied work life, including one-to-one mentoring, facilitating small groups, and working with larger groups of young people. You will have the chance to get involved with a variety of youth work, such as sports, music, creative, and faith-based activities.
Additional information
The charity’s office is in St Paul’s Cray, but the job holder will be required to travel to locations in Chislehurst and surrounding areas within the London Borough of Bromley. There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a committed Christian in accordance with Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and references. The salary for this role is £15,682 for 21 hours per week, including Outer London Weighting (£26,136 FTE).
