Main duties of the job Fetal Medicine is the branch of medicine that provides care for the fetus (or fetuses) and mother and her family. This includes the assessment of fetal growth and well- being and the diagnosis and management of fetal disorders (including fetal abnormalities) and counselling and support for parents. The post holder will provide clinical leadership to the fetal medicine midwifery team and provide specialist advice on all aspects of fetal medicine to the multidisciplinary team. They will coordinate the safe, effective and efficient running of the fetal medicine service in the provision of excellent maternity care for women and families accessing FMU services. They will be an experienced resource for learners and visitors to the unit.
