Job Title: Stores Account Operative

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a versatile and enthusiastic Stores Account Operative to join our logistics team. The candidate will have the professional capability to multi-task when and where needed, required by the business and in line with the customers' expectations.
Activities would include accounting for engineering assets, stocktaking, receipts and issues, and the reverse supply chain. These activities will be conducted utilising MOD IT applications and in line with Defence policy, assuring the accurate and timely service delivery.
The successful candidate is required to be well-organised, confident with credible communication skills, readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. In addition, the individual will need to be versatile, intuitive, professional with good judgement and demonstrate absolute integrity. Will need to be proactive, self-motivated and be responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure. The incumbent will need to be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values.
Other Attributes Requirements
The ideal candidate should have experience working in a store environment, although training will be provided. They should also have a proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service and the ability to build strong working relationships. A working knowledge of health and safety is essential, along with effective interpersonal communication skills. Additionally, the candidate should be IT literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.
Main Responsibilities Will Include
The main responsibilities of the role will include working within a Defence stores office environment, with accountability for stock in line with Defence policies. The position involves conducting analysis of current stock holdings against future expectations, as well as reviewing requests to upscale or descale holdings and obtaining necessary authority. Knowledge of the reverse supply chain would be an advantage. The role also requires dealing with customer inquiries and actively promoting a safe working culture by adhering to health and safety requirements. Additionally, the use of IT and Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, is required. The candidate will also be expected to undertake any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager, including leading changes to meet the emerging needs of the business.
