Why Join KPMG as a Senior Ethics & Independence Analyst
The Ethics and Independence (E&I) team are part of the Risk Operations Group (ROG) within the Operational Excellence Hub (OEH), responsible for monitoring the firm’s and its individuals’ compliance with professional risk management and quality control policies, procedures, and guidance. The Group collaborates with the wider Quality and Risk community and across the KPMG network to exchange knowledge, develop, and improve processes in response to emerging regulatory, business, and other requirements.
The Personal E&I team manages processes to demonstrate oversight of compliance according to firm/regulatory policy, including onboarding personnel and third-party resources, and issuing mandatory E&I training. They provide guidance to partners, personnel, and third parties on personal independence matters and handle related requests, ensuring research and responses are in line with policies.
What will you be doing?
This role supports the Assistant Manager, focusing on delivering high-quality service and continuous improvement in personal E&I activities. You will assist in training and coaching the team, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures, and supporting process enhancements based on lessons learned.
* Assisting management and providing SME support to the E&I team
* Identifying issues in E&I tasks, escalating and recording them properly, and reporting to the Personal E&I manager
* Supporting ongoing training and development of the team
* Ensuring tasks are completed in accordance with regulations, guidance, and SLAs
* Assigning E&I tasks to personnel and third parties, monitoring completion using internal systems and Microsoft Office
* Maintaining excellent knowledge of personal independence rules
* Responding to queries and clearing E&I exceptions
* Collaborating with onboarding to resolve escalations and issues
* Managing mailbox and helpline escalations and queries
* Generating reports and analytics for management
* Supporting wider compliance programs and projects
