Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Central & Wessex region are looking for a dynamic, organised and efficient Band 6 Practice Nurse who will be working within our Primary Healthcare team at Bulford Medical Centre.
Due to the nature of the business, it is essential that you have prior experience of primary healthcare. Please see attached Job Description and Person Specification for more information.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinaryprimary healthcare team delivering primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health. The post holder will work with the Senior Practice Nurse or Senior Medical Officer within the medical facility and will be a focal point for Primary Healthcare nursing issues within the area of practice.
Many of our practice sites are networked and linked to provide support to each other, on occasion within your planned working schedule, you may be requested to work at the linked practice site. In these situations, travel time and cost will be allowed for.

Duties andresponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
5. Providing specialist high-quality person-centred primary care which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity using high quality clinical knowledge that is evidence based, with use of core healthcare guidelines.
6. Being responsible for the delivery of appropriate treatment, screening and advice to patients within their professional competence and in accordance with DPHC clinical guidelines and protocols.
7. Providing expert clinical advice, leadership and support ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis and decision making skills.
8. Undertaking technical nursing treatments and procedures for patient's complex/specialist healthcare needs ( wound care, sutures removal, ECGs, cytology, audiometry and ear care.
