Associate User Experience Designer - York, England, United Kingdom
Anaplan is looking for an Associate User Experience Designer to join our growing global User Experience team in York and contribute as a member of our R&D organization, with offices in San Francisco, New York, London and York.
Now is an exciting time to join a mature team with 25 designers and researchers, focused on rolling out beautiful and intuitive web and mobile interfaces that help businesses plan across their enterprise and improve decision-making. Our team provides design expertise across multiple products and teams, supports the evolution of our design system and makes time for exploratory work that informs our product vision.
As an Associate User Experience Designer at Anaplan, you will be working with product owners, engineers and our design system team to design experiences for our admin, builder and business user personas. You will play a big part in developing reusable design patterns, with the aim of creating a cohesive end-to-end experience for our customers.
The User Experience team is responsible for advocating for the user experience across our ecosystem. We facilitate data-driven decisions through understanding user needs and problems and evaluating solutions. Our goal is to drive customer delight and that ‘aha’ moment for our customers when they see the possibilities of Anaplan.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is at the start of their UX career and wants to progress in the field whilst being mentored and supported by a team of domain experts.
Your role
* Understand and advocate for our users, and their needs and problems, to identify solutions and deliver great experiences.
* Participate in collaborative cross-functional design workshops to ideate proposals.
* Work closely with senior designers and other stakeholders to iterate through design ideas.
* Work with our researchers to evaluate high-risk proposals through user research.
* Describe solutions through lightweight design assets and UX acceptance criteria.
* Understand and utilize the Anaplan Design System in order to maintain a coherent experience across our ecosystem.
* Evaluate quantitative and qualitative feedback to continually improve solutions.
To be successful in the role, you should demonstrate the following skills and mindset:
* Passion for UX design, information architecture and interaction design.
* Ability to use solid methodologies for solving complex user problems.
* Communicating ideas quickly through sketching.
* Forming hypotheses based on common patterns, related tools and understanding of user behaviour.
* An understanding of HTML and CSS.
* Designing cross-device experiences using tools such as Figma.
* Hands-on experience of user research.
* Experience with complex application design, especially in financial systems.
* Experience with mobile (iOS/Android/mobile-web).
* Bundles of enthusiasm, tenacity and a customer-first approach.
