Join our Individual Giving team and help drive supporter engagement for Blue Cross! The Individual Giving team is responsible for recruiting, developing and retaining individual supporters of Blue Cross with the goal of maximising the value of their relationship.
In this role, you’ll support the recruitment and stewardship of individuals leaving a gift in their Will, ensuring they receive the best possible experience. Working with the Legacy Marketing Team, you’ll assist in campaign delivery across digital, direct mail, telemarketing, print, and email—ensuring they run smoothly, on time, and within budget.
You’ll also manage key administrative tasks, maintain accurate supporter data, and coordinate with internal teams to handle campaign responses and supporter communications. If you're organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal welfare, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
* Increase supporter engagement with Blue Cross legacy giving and In-Memoriam programmes.
* Support marketing activities for free Will writing partners, Pet Peace of Mind service, and gifts in Wills.
* Manage administrative tasks, including proofreading, stock management, and supporter communications.
* Liaise closely with the Legacy Administration team to handle supporter enquiries sensitively.
* Build strong relationships with internal teams, external agencies, and suppliers to deliver effective campaigns.
* Assist in briefing and coordinating with creative, digital, and data teams to ensure campaign effectiveness.
* Oversee approval processes, ensuring accuracy in copy, artwork, and campaign materials.
* Support database management, ensuring accurate recording of supporter data and insights.
About you
We are looking for a self-motivated, well-organised, and proactive individual to join our team. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet both short- and long-term objectives and deadlines. With a keen eye for detail and a supporter-centric mindset, you will play a vital role in enhancing donor loyalty and improving supporter experiences.
This role requires flexibility, including occasional travel, overnight stays, and some evening or weekend work. As a team player, you will be confident, positive, and able to engage with people at all levels, building strong relationships with both colleagues and supporters. Given the sensitive nature of our work, your ability to communicate effectively and show empathy will be essential.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
* Interest in a direct, digital marketing or legacy marketing role
* Experience of database marketing
* Experienced in understanding how to engage customers/supporters and improve overall customer/supporter experience
* Ability to stay up to date with changing guidelines relating to direct marketing and fundraising specifically GDPR legislation
* Excellent working knowledge of software applications particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to demonstrate, understanding and apply our Blue Cross values
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
* Good copywriting skills and the ability to evaluate the quality and suitability of external copywriters (for example, working with marketing agencies and freelancers)
* Digital marketing experience
* Experience of direct marketing, individual giving or legacy marketing
* Experience of CRM databases
* Knowledge of GDPR and best practice for data
