Support Worker Hours: 29.5 per week Location: Torfaen Salary: £23,500 per annum, pro-rated (rising to £24,000 following successful completion of a 6-month probationary period) The role involves delivering support across Torfaen, at our refuge services primarily, as well as in the local community and at our Hwb in Pontypool All team members must work flexibly on occasions to meet the needs of the Charity and the people we support Participate at Tier 2 for the organisational emergency on call system Purpose of the Post: To provide specialist trauma informed support to adults and children who experience or are affected by abuse, harm and violence and receiving support in our refuge accommodation or within the local community in Torfaen. Specific Responsibilities Work collaboratively with team members to plan and deliver high quality, specialist, trauma informed with a refuge-based case load, supporting people to feel safer, have more control, and have choice in decisions about their future Regularly assess and positively manage risk for those we support in an inclusive and enabling way Support individuals to positively engage in, develop and owning their own support and/or safety plans, achieving meaningful and impactful outcomes, which are led by them Adhere with external Safeguarding legislation, policies and processes, escalating concerns promptly when appropriate Provide accurate, timely and confidential record keeping in relation to all aspects of the support service and case work Collaborate with team members and the Facilities Coordinator to ensure safe and effective running of refuge services including health and safety compliance Take a trauma informed approach to supporting adults to maintain licence agreements/ contracts Provide signposting and direction to the internal and external services those we support wish to engage in Provide regular and varied opportunities for feedback around experience to continuously improve services including through regular House meetings Actively participate in collating information for audits or reporting requirements and positively engage in achieving any improvement plans Actively engage in clinical and managerial supervision Build and maintain positive working relationships with key external agencies This role is predominantly based in Refuge with some time spend in our Hwb responding to initial requests and in the local community providing support. This to help cover annual leave and absence). As well as those detailed above, responsibilities include; Provide trauma informed conversations to understand need and risk through planned, drop-in and emergency appointments at our Hwb Provide support to help managing immediate safety and safeguarding concerns Enable people to understand available internal and external services and facilitate referrals General Responsibilities Contribute to the: Development and achievement of our Vision, Mission and Objectives.
