About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Support Workers to join a team, helping young autistic adults to grow, learn, and thrive. In this rewarding role, youll work one:on:one or with small groups, offering crucial support in both an adult learning environment and within the local community. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personalised care and support based on each learners unique needs.
* Lead activities that promote life skills, well:being, and social inclusion.
* Assist learners in overcoming challenges and building their confidence.
* Help with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, and toileting, ensuring dignity and respect.
* Support learners in participating in social, educational, and recreational activities.
* Assist learners in gaining employment skills and accessing job opportunities.
* Promote independence by empowering learners to make their own choices.
* Monitor learner progress and adapt support as needed to meet their goals.
* Administer medication (after training) and manage any medical emergencies.
* Take part in regular training and professional development to enhance your skills.
What Theyre Looking For:
* Experience working with people, either professionally or personally:particularly those with disabilities or additional needs.
* Patience, understanding, and a calm approach when dealing with challenging behaviour.
* A willingness to assist with personal care, ensuring learners maintain dignity and hygiene.
* Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with learners, staff, and families.
* Good communication skills and the ability to follow learner care plans.
* A commitment to providing the highest standard of care and maintaining confidentiality.
