Your new role
This is a senior Financial Controller role and will work closely with a well established and highly regarded Finance Director. As the #2 position in this finance team of 8, you will be covering managing a broad range of duties, which will include :
1. Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring adherence to deadlines, automation, and control processes.
2. Deliver high-quality financial reporting, including profit and cash flow forecasts, budget creation and presentation, management accounts, and external benchmarking to support key management decisions.
3. Provide coaching and feedback to operational managers to enhance their understanding of financial responsibilities.
4. Foster discussions with the wider team to drive continuous improvement. Establish and maintain key financial relationships (, banks, external auditors, property managers, insurance providers).
5. Continuously refine compliance and risk management strategies.
6. Ensure proactive tax compliance and planning, covering PAYE, VAT, and corporation tax.
7. Manage fixed assets and the company property portfolio.
8. Participate in broader company initiatives.
9. Lead and develop the finance team, supporting their career growth and fostering business collaboration.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will be fully qualified in either ACA, CIMA or ACCA
Current or previous experience at a similar level in a fast-paced SME environment
Experience of working in a multi-site and / or hospitality business is advantageous
Positive and progressive mindset with an appetite to develop the finance function and team further
