About the role:
To provide full operational analytical support to the Executive board, Senior Management Team and Network operations as part of the Operations Support function.
1. Applying analytical skills to analyse data, interpreting results and presenting in the form of tables, charts and diagrams, checking for errors.
2. Takes computer generated data and following analysis creates operational reports for many aspects of the previous day’s performance. These reports are issued to our Exec board and operational teams supporting them to manage the day to day operation – highlighting issues through analysis and data. Examples of this are the Daily Quality Report (a full network review), Card Left (monitoring the use of a delivery card when unable to deliver).
3. Monitors and tracks our forecasted and budgeted volumes against the actual volumes collected – analysing shortfalls / excessive unplanned volumes.
4. To compile monthly reports for the Executive Board and Finance which are provided to our parent group.
5. To create, develop and maintain a dashboard for the SMT.
6. To identify, investigate and explain variances from targets.
7. To complete full analysis on network performance to be able to supply both data and support to resolve issues.
8. Working closely with IT to contribute to the development of future reporting requirements.
9. Liaison with Regional, Site and Operations managers to assist in understanding of reports and to provide adhoc support as required.
10. To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably required in the context of the role as requested by the Operations Support Manager.
11. As part of the route planning process to interpret data and prepare for full review using Geoplan Route Review software.
12. To work within the team and alone on projects as necessary.
13. To provide administrative support for the Head of Operations Support and the Operations Support team including stationery control, and holiday/attendance records/reports.
14. To support the peak planning process, working with the corporate sales team to consolidate forecast information, compare to actual volumes and provide analysis and feedback to the operations management team on performance.
15. Provides back office support for the control and dispatch of our company uniform, maintaining our database, providing reports on issue, and charging documents to be processed to claim cost back from subcontract drivers.
16. Controls and supports the network with the Network Planning documents.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A broad understanding and competence in the multi-disciplined processes that make up Parcel Operations.
2. Proven experience in obtaining data and producing reports.
