BOOKKEEPER £38,000 - £40,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE ESHER About the role Our well-established, friendly and professional client is looking to recruit a Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day administration, as well as completing the bookkeeping for the Company, maintaining the purchase ledger and processing regular payment runs. The role requires an organiser with strong human and administration qualities who can prioritise effectively when faced with multiple different tasks and multiple different stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, be proactive and be able to deal with issues and matters quickly and in an efficient manner Responsibilities fall into two categories: Accounts Assistant responsibilities include; Maintaining the purchase and sales ledger using Sage 200. Reconciling balance sheet accounts on a quarterly basis and assisting the finance team with the preparation of management and year-end accounts where necessary. Posting and maintaining schedules for accruals, prepayments, fixed asset depreciation. Payment run; collating invoices, making timely payments and liaising with suppliers as and when required to resolve any payment discrepancies. Communicating with multiple bank relationship managers, maintaining relationships and ensuring smooth running of banking systems. Completing weekly cash reports for various companies and managing petty cash. Assisting with queries from third parties where necessary, including auditors and external accountants. Preparing and collating company credit card statements and employee’s cash expenses. Office Management responsibilities include; Answering and forwarding phone calls. Taking the minutes in finance committee meetings, audit committee, board meetings, any other meetings as required. Monitoring office supplies and replenishing as and when required. Updating various records such as the holiday log and supplier lists. Managing the MBA Scholarship team to review applicants eligibility, prepare documents for shortlisting, managing the mailbox, and partaking in final interview stages to partake in the decision of candidate awards on an annual basis. Document organisation and management of passports, proof of residence, travel visas. Ad hoc admin support to other members of staff as and when required. Candidate requirements Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with different stakeholders. Process-oriented, highly organised and with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. A team player who is comfortable working in a small team environment. Must have great attention to detail Highly discreet and confidential. 5 years working experience in a transactional finance role such as Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant Experience with Sage line 200 highly advantageous but being proficient in alternate accounting software is also considered.
