About the role
As a Chef/Cook at MHA, you will manage the efficiency, hygiene, and safety in the catering area, organising and supervising other staff in the kitchen while maintaining HACCP principles and ensuring all legislative standards are met. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents daily, respecting their rights to privacy, dignity, and choice. You will plan menus to provide nutritionally balanced and attractive meals, catering to special diets when necessary. An experienced caterer with good planning, budget, and stock control abilities is required. You will take stock of ingredients and create new recipes to keep the menu fresh!

About you
1. You will hold excellent communication and people skills and have the ability to work under pressure while using your creativity in preparing meals.
2. Prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents, visitors, and staff daily, including catering for ad-hoc events. This means being able to follow recipes and knowing basic techniques to handle various food types.
3. You must be able to think about everything at once and understand what each section of the kitchen is working on.
4. You will work in the home of the individuals you are cooking for, allowing you to get to know their likes and dislikes.
5. You must have the ability to cook to budgets.
6. Maintain a positive working environment and motivate the kitchen team to deliver excellent results.
