Techniche Global are supporting a global food manufacturer to appoint a Production Engineer. You will play a critical role in maintaining seamless production by responding swiftly to breakdowns, reducing downtime, and ensuring reliability through planned maintenance.
Salary: up to £43k plus £5k shift allowance
Location: near Newport- 100% onsite
Duration: perm/ full-time
Working Hours
* Seven-day fortnight: Work 7 out of 14 days, with alternating weeks of days and nights shifts
* 12-hour shifts (7am - 7pm)
Key Responsibilities
* Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime
* Conduct planned maintenance to improve equipment reliability
* Support in commissioning new equipment and upgrading existing machinery
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety requirements
* Hands-on involvement, suited to those who excel in dynamic, fast-paced settings
About You
This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong engineering background in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Key Skills
* Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing settings
* Competency in either electrical or mechanical maintenance
* Desirable: Completed 4-year apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering, and familiarity with hygiene standards in food manufacturing
