*EduFin is closed for 5 days over the Christmas period, using annual leave for this period is mandatory. However, after 1 year of service, annual entitlement increases to 25 days, and after 3 years increases further to 28 days.

The Role
As an employee with EduFin, you will gain fantastic insight and experience into the education finance sector. The breadth of the support we offer our clients ensures that there is never a dull day!
The senior consultant role is vast and can include:
* Training school finance staff on the relevant finance software we use.
* Absence cover for Finance Controller / CFO level roles.
* Preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Management of school budgets and forecasts.
* Assisting clients and auditors with financial statements and year-end audits.
* Reporting to Senior Management / Trustees.
* Advising clients on best practices based on the Academies Financial Handbook.
Duties
Although the majority of your working day will be on-site, fulfilling a role or tasks as set by the client, there are additional responsibilities that this level of role comes with, such as:
* Keeping your planner up to date at all times.
* Ensuring client work is scheduled in the planner accordingly to meet deadlines.
* Ensuring your line manager is aware of any gaps in your diary at least 4 weeks in advance.
* Ensuring client work is adequately covered when on annual leave.
* Being responsible for arranging client work, i.e. equipment needed for training.
* Looking for opportunities to promote our services.
* Maintaining a presence on LinkedIn on behalf of the company.
* Keeping up with sector changes to provide the best service possible to clients.
* Maintaining an adequate level of CPD; sourcing your own training opportunities.
* Being an effective team leader.
Potential Client Duties
Some duties that may be expected of you when on-site include, but are not limited to:
General:
* Ensure that all transactions and advice are in line with the client’s financial policies and statutory regulations.
Purchase Ledger:
* Posting documents to the clients' accounting software accurately and timely.
* Creating new suppliers and performing relevant checks.
* Creating payment runs.
* Ensuring expenditure is recorded against the relevant nominal code.
* Investigating and actioning issues with creditors.
Sales Ledger:
* Raising sales invoices as requested by the client.
* Ensuring all income is recorded accurately.
* Monitoring and chasing invoices for prompt payment.
Bank Account:
* Controlling and monitoring bank accounts.
* Reconciliation of bank accounts weekly and monthly.
Payroll:
* Working with the client to ensure monthly payroll costs are reconciled.
Budgeting:
* Supporting clients with the preparation of 3-5 year budgets.
Reporting:
* Preparing month-end management accounts packs as per DfE guidance.
Other:
* Providing financial support to assist budget holders within Academies.
* Preparing VAT returns.
* Delivering training sessions.
