We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to oversee all aspects of kitchen management. This role involves working closely with support staff to enable adults with learning disabilities and autism to actively participate in kitchen activities. The ideal candidate will create delicious, healthy, seasonal vegetarian and vegan menus, including cakes and sweet treats, while ensuring food safety compliance and high standards of food presentation are always met. About the Role: Collaborate with support staff to involve adults with learning disabilities and autism in kitchen activities. To provide training and support to the team, including food preparation and cooking skills. Develop and prepare tasty, healthy and seasonal vegetarian and vegan main meals and make cakes and sweet treats. Liaise with the garden coordinator to incorporate home-grown produce into the menu. Work with the team to organise an efficient food service period, focusing on presentation and attention to detail. To support occasional additional internal and external event catering. To work within the legal requirements of food safety compliance in accordance with Food Standards Agency. Be responsible for hands-on cleaning, COSHH, food labelling, allergen management, record keeping and reporting repairs and hazards. Be responsible for ordering via agreed suppliers and stock control ensuring best value. To ensure a healthy working environment, in accordance with CMKC policies and procedures. To undertake any other ad hoc projects as required by CMKC that are commensurate with the role. What you need: Proven experience in kitchen management Be a creative and passionate cook of seasonal vegetarian food. Hold a level 3/4 food safety certificate Achieved 7061/2 NVQ or equivalent qualification or experience Experience of applying the principles of care practice Understanding of the principles of equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice Accurate record keeping skills Eligible to work in the UK
